Hi Everyone,
In case you missed our webinars on the Ground-Breaking Vivos treatment for both Adults and Children, please call our office so we can provide you with a link to this incredible information. It is hard for me to put into words how excited our entire team is about being able to offer this revolutionary solution to Snoring & Sleep Apnea. There are 2 things I want you to be aware of:
|
|
1. No more CPAP or Dental Appliances: Both the CPAP and the Appliances we treat you with at Snore Experts are things you have to do for life. Meaning you have to wear them every night or you suffer the consequences. They treat the problem when you wear them but they don’t fix the problem. As you know, the problem is your tongue is too big for your mouth. So, it goes backwards, blocking your airway causing Snoring & Sleep Apnea. It keeps your brain from getting the vital Oxygen it needs.
|
|
The Vivos treatment is a type of orthodontic treatment lasting 18 – 24 months and in a pain-free way, expands your jaws to make room for your tongue. The result - - In a recent study, 25% of the participants at the end of treatment no longer needed to wear anything. Not a CPAP or a Dental Appliance. This is truly a next generation treatment
|
|
2. Kids: We have already discussed the fact that both Snoring & Sleep Apnea is about a Big Tongue in a Mouth that is too small. This happens between the ages of 2 and 12. The question always was “What if we could fix the kids? Make sure their mouth grew large enough to fit the tongue?” Well, now we can finally do this! Yes, by treating the kids, they should never Snore or have Sleep Apnea.

You are probably well aware of the massive increase in ADHD with our kids over previous generations. A number of studies are all pointing to the fact that many of these kids have airway issues. Meaning they are not getting Oxygen when they sleep. You can tell when you see them breathing through their mouth. By the way, “Mouth Breathing” is NOT normal. Nose Breathing IS. If you see a kid, or an adult, breathing through their mouth, their jaws are too small for their tongue and they are struggling to get Oxygen to their brain. At sleep, they struggle big time. With this new Vivos treatment, we can treat these kids to give them the proper jaw size they were supposed to have. Aside from feeling so much better, they will look better as well.
To find out more, call our office today and we can schedule a time to come in and discuss these treatments in more detail. If you have Children and/or Grandchildren who have allergies, ADHD, are Bed-wetting, Snoring, tired during the day, having behavioral issues and/or mouth-breathing get them in to see us. There is finally help.
To open airways, great sleep and optimal health for everyone.
Best - - Dr. Greenburg

Feeling tired lately?
Sleep experts from Amerisleep compiled a list of 96 Google search terms relating to sleep disorders and how to get more rest, and then calculated the average monthly search volume per 100,000 residents in each state over the last year.
Based on their findings, California was ranked the sleepiest state in the U.S., with an average monthly search volume of 805 searches per 100,000 residents.

Motor vehicles pollute, clog streets, and are responsible for more than 40,000 deaths in the U.S. each year. But longer and more expensive car commutes are also hurting our mental health.
A new study conducted by researchers in Spain found that the more time and money people spent driving to work, the worse mental health outcomes they experienced.

Pets aren't always the most courteous bedmates. Here's how you can get a good night's rest while co-sleeping with your pet.
Sure, there's research out there that suggests it's best not to sleep with your pet. But that's easy to say when you aren't looking into the eyes of a fluffy, cuddly animal trying to sneak into bed with you.

Nothing ruins a good night’s sleep like waking up drenched in sweat. The best cooling pajamas for women are designed with breathable fabrics and comfort-first features that keep you from overheating. Specifically, you’ll find a lot of top-rated styles from loungewear brands that specialize in sweat-wicking sleepwear and even bedding companies that create pajamas from the same cooling fabrics as their sheets.

Q: How are OSA and TMJ connected? (Aerica K.)
A: Aerica, with OSA, your muscles relax, which causes your tongue to fall back and your airway/throat to close. One of the ways we open the airway while we sleep is by clenching our teeth. This increases our muscle tone and opens the airway. Unfortunately, this clenching all night long can tire the muscles of your face causing headaches, pain and even locking of your jaw in some cases, commonly known as TMJ pain.
So, in many cases, by fixing your OSA, you will no longer clench, and your TMJ issues will be fixed as well.
*WARNING: some dental mouth pieces for OSA treatment can make TMJ worse.*
If you are getting treatment from a dentist and you have TMJ, make sure they are well trained in TMJ and Sleep Apnea treatment, aka OSA.
----------------------------------------------------------
Q: Can OSA be causing my headaches? (Ramshin B.)
A: Ramshin, absolutely. With OSA, you are not getting enough oxygen to the brain and elsewhere in the body. Lack of oxygen will cause a headache. These headaches can become quite severe. They can also be further exasperated by severe clenching that OSA commonly causes. Get rid of your snoring and OSA and you might just be getting rid of your headaches as well.
